Space Mountain is an epic space voyage!

Space Mountain first opened in 1978 and when you're at Disneyland, getting a FastPass for Space Mountain should be the first thing on the Disneyland to-do list at Disneyland. I particularly love this indoor dark roller coaster every time I go to Disneyland. The ride is even more exhilarating around summer and Halloween, where it is given a Hyperspace Star Wars makeover and a Ghost Galaxy make over. I think the best version of this coaster is the Hyperspace version as it gives you the sense that you are in the Star Wars universe in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. But overall, Space Mountain isn't just your average roller coaster, it's an exhilarating voyage through the outer reaches of space with nova, stars, planets, portals and more. The experience manages to be fun and whimsical, but also having a certain level of dread. As the alien movie says, In space, no one can hear you scream, but there is going to be a lot of screaming on Space Mountain.
